Cox
and Plant launches new laning system
Midlands-based
food conveyor manufacturer Cox and Plant Products has launched a
new conveyor enabling separation of products for easier presentation
and packaging.
Cox
and Plant's vibratory Lanerveyor? is designed to align products
and is ideal for food such as cereal and chocolate bars, bread rolls,
fish fingers and sliced vegetables.
Commercial
Director Andy Cox said: "We have worked very closely with food manufacturers
to develop the Lanerveyor?, in particular the UK's largest processor
of seafood. This has resulted in fifteen similar systems being installed
across Europe.
"The
conveyor was originally designed as a bespoke laning machine to
align fish fingers so they could be directly fed and packed into
boxes. We are now seeing an increase in the need for correct handling
and effortless arrangement of products to ensure that 'A' grade
products are produced." .

A
second generation family business were seeking solutions to their
spillage issues. When Cox & Plant reviewed the facility they also
identified lack of even feeding leading to drying issues and ultimately
reduced revenue.
The
Cox & Plant solution included:
-
Correct interfacing to alleviate spillage
- Covers
to prevent contamination of product
-
Evenfeed to ensure correct spread to dryer
An
additional benefit provided by Cox & Plant was for the fines removal
screening option to ensure that only grade A product was released
to the end users.
